Florentine Corset
The Italian Renaissance undergarment corset is made of two layers of dense white flax, with 13 corset bones imitating whalebone used at the time. Dresses of the period featured short-cut bodices. The silhouette was later named "Empire style".
Undergarment stays come down to almost the waist and are laced on the back with the stay lace. The foundation garment is meant to provide peak lacing of the upper body under the dress. Corsets of the period still lacked side bones, casings, or "underbust" cups. The stays used were actually flat. The low neckline allowed the bust to be partially released to make breathing easier. This also allowed partly nude tempting curves that showed through the zephyrian semitransparent silk or linen muslin of the chemise. Since the corset was worn next to the skin for modesty, we attached a not-quite-historically-correct white linen underskirt.
Skirt is not included, a set of corset and skirt is available with "add skirt" selection.
Please note: if you would like to use this set as underwear, then we recommend choosing the white color in the order form.

How To Measure - Women:
(2) For the cuff measurement, measure around your wrist for your actual wrist circumference.
(5) Measure neck circumference at the base of the neck.
(6) Measure arm circumference at top of the bicep muscle (between shoulder and elbow)
(7) Measure under arms, around fullest part of bust.
(8) Measure waist circumference (completely around) at an even height against bare skin. Keep a finger between your body and the tape when reading your measurement.
(9) Measure from shoulder point to shoulder point.
(14) Measure from shoulder seam to 1.5 inches lower than wrist bone.
(15) Measure from waistline to desired lower hem. For the most accurate measurement, wear the same footwear that you will wear with your garment. If you will be wearing a hoop skirt, please measure with the hoop skirt. If we will be providing the hoop skirt, please inform us of this and we can adjust your measurement.
(17) Measure from base of neck to the waistline.
(18) Neck to Lower Hem: Measure from base of neck the length you like. Stand up straight before measuring.
(21) Measure circumference (completely around) of the fullest part of the hips.

All in stock orders are normally shipped within 1-2 days from the time you place your order.
Expedited orders are normally shipped within 1 day from the time you place your order. Business hours are Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm EST.
We do NOT ship on Saturdays, Sundays, or Holidays, nor do our Shippers deliver orders on those days. Please do not expect orders to be shipping immediately upon you placing the order.
Ground shipping in the US will take 3-6 working days to reach you once your order is dispatched, depending on where you are located in the US.
Some items will not be available for immediate shipment, it may not be in stock or may be on back order. If you need your order ASAP, please contact us. We will contact you immediately if an order is going to take longer than 5 days to ship.
Returns & Exchanges
We will take returns for up to 10 days after the arrival date of your order. Any items being returned must be in original condition. This means the product cannot be worn, washed, soiled, damaged, or used in any way. There is a 15% restocking fee for all returns and you must email us for a Return Authorization Code at pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe@gmail.com.
The Return Authorization Code is only valid for 3 days. If your return is over the return period, a 25% restocking fee will be charged. All special & custom order items, if returned, will be charged a re-stocking fee of 25%.
For clothing, it is fine to try it on, however, you’ll want to make sure you do not subject the item to any scents (such as perfume, smoke or any other scent that will require the garment to be washed). Make sure all accessories, such as laces, are also returned with the garment. Boots should not have any markings on the soles. Please take care and try your footwear on a carpeted or soft floor that will not scratch or mark the bottom of the shoes.
Items that are not returnable are: Tights and Hosen, Costume Wigs, Earrings, Briefs, and Custom/Special Order Items. Custom/Special Order means any item that is ordered from us that states it is a special order item and has to be made, or any item that is not normally for sale on our website. For example, a custom color, or custom size of a particular item.
All special & custom order items, if returned, will be charged a re-stocking fee of 25%. Any special ordered items that are canceled before receiving those items, will also be charged the re-stocking fee.
Returns/exchanges may take up to 2 weeks to process. If you are exchanging and need your item(s) quickly, we suggest placing a new order to speed up the exchange process. Put a note in the box with your exchange/return letting us know how you wish us to proceed with the exchange/return.
